Melissa Dunn

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and reaching out is an act of courage and self-care. Melissa works with both individuals and families using an emotion-focused, attachment-based, and psychodynamic approach. Before joining Bridge For Families, she worked in daycares, youth group homes, and with individuals with disabilitiesโexperiences that deepened her compassion and strengthened her commitment to inclusive care. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience from Carleton University and is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.

Tom's therapeutic approach begins with developing a therapeutic relationship and building a trusting and safe environment with clients. He works with clients (children 10 years and older, youth, adults, couples and families) to reflect on and identify their problems, establish SMART treatment goals, and develop new ways of thinking, feeling and behaving using evidence-based therapy modalities. His client-centered approach is tailored to each individual using an integrative mix of Humanistic, Narrative, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Family Systems approaches.
