About Melissa
Melissa works with adolescents, adults, and couples, creating a space where you feel genuinely respected, supported, and understood. Her goal is to support you in exploring what matters most and to help you move toward meaningful change.
With adolescents, she supports concerns such as anxiety, relationships, depression, self-esteem, and anger. For adults, she helps navigate grief, relationship difficulties, intimacy, parenting, and major life transitions. In her work with couples, she focuses on communication, conflict, affair recovery, and challenges related to sex, pleasure, and attachment.
Her approach is informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and the Gottman Method. Before joining the BFF team, she supported youth and teens with emotional regulation and worked as a support worker for adults with disabilities.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience from Carleton University and is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. She has additional training in EFIT Level 1 and Gottman Method Level 1, and is working towards becoming a Certified Sex Informed Professional.
In her spare time, Melissa enjoys reading, discovering new food, and spending time with friends and family. She is happy to chat to see if you would be a good fit.
